Well, the joke’s on me! When I posted my last message (at 3am while nursing Avalon) it was NOT snowing. When I was done nursing the snow had begun. When we woke up this morning, there was about three inches of snow on the ground. It snowed all day, but is starting to melt now. What crazy weather! Will I ever get used to Utah?

I have to admit it. The scenery in Utah is incredible. Spring is upon us and the boys are spending more time outdoors. Hopefully in a week or two Avalon and I will be joining them.
Calvin enjoying some fine spring weather.
Here are some pictures that Ivan (age 6) took of the mountains practically in our back yard. This is the view I see every day from my window. How beautiful!
We often see deer roaming and prancing in this field during the wee hours of the morning. We’ve also caught sight of a resident pheasant on occasion.
Calvin sings with the American Fork Children’s Choir. Here he is at his Spring Concert, held at the Alpine Tabernacle. (He is on the bottom row, second from the left.) The choir sang “Kum Ba Ya”, “All Glory, Laud and Honor” and several other songs. Great job, Calvin! March 21st, 2008
Here is a fun picture of Calvin that John took. What a great smile he has!
Today we said goodbye to Grandma Allen. She has been here a little over a week and has been a tremendous help to us all. She did all the laundry. Helped with the dishes. Cooked lots of yummy food. Read to the boys many, many books. Kept Mama company. Etc, etc, etc…. We will miss her a ton. (Especially Mama!)
We have a tradition in our family that Grandma Allen always gives the first bath to our children. I think it started out because I was scared stiff to bathe Calvin. I watched as she so expertly held him and cleaned him. All the first baths have been in our kitchen sink. (I think). So, the tradition lives on….
Avalon is not so sure about this thing called water.
“Who are you and why did you get me wet?”
” I’m all of a sudden VERY sleepy.”
Check out the soft and fluffy hair.
Well, all of John’s siblings and their spouses have a blog and they keep wanting us to have a blog. I have resisted for a long time because I just don’t have a lot of time, etc. I have been considering it lately because I think it may be a good thing for family history, scrapbooking, and journaling. There is this website www.blurb.com that Jen Pratt has introduced to me. They can take your blog website and automatically make it into a scrapbook. If I do this, then it will make scrapbooking a little easier for me. I can keep up on my pictures and have lots of journaling because it will all be “in the moment” so to speak.
So, we are giving this a shot. John came home from work last night and said he created a blog site for me. Very convenient! Thanks, honey. You are the BEST!
Welcome to our family blog! The hard work of others has finally paid off, and we now have a blog, largely to share the pictures of our littlest one, Avalon! She was born March 10th at 10:58 PM in Grandpa and Grandma Pratt's home (where Lisa and John are staying now). Thanks for visiting!
