Welcome to our family blog! The hard work of others has finally paid off, and we now have a blog, largely to share the pictures of our littlest one, Avalon! She was born March 10th at 10:58 PM in Grandpa and Grandma Pratt's home (where Lisa and John are staying now). Thanks for visiting!

The Great Outdoors!!!

camp1-a.jpg

We camped right on the bank of the Provo River, got some fishing in, and went on a little hike barefoot with the ward.

Back to Dial-Up….

Well, my posts may be a little further in-between.  We are back to dial-up internet and I have shed a little tear…. but am trying to move on.  I have figured out that if I shrink the pictures down a lot, they will post easier for me.  But, no movies for a little while.

Grandma and Grandpa cut the high-speed umbilical cord and we are on our own.  I have told John that when we move, we are just going to have to bite the bullet and pay for the SPEED!  This upcoming month or so will really be a lesson in patience.

Here is a cute photo of Avalon.  She has the brightest eyes!  We just love ‘em.

bday.jpg Here is a photo from my birthday.  I turned 34  on the 26th and we were going to have a big family shin-dig at a restaurant in Provo, but Reed got sick and so I was a little bummed.  Then, my sis-in-law, Elizabeth, called and invited me to lunch anyway.  We went to Olive Garden and enjoyed a little lunch with the babies.  Then, we went shopping at the mall with some birthday money I got from John.  Thanks, honey!  Thanks to Elizabeth, It turned out to be a great day afterall!

Another Roll Over!

This morning I read the blog about cousin Emily rolling over from back to front.  She, apparently, has “found her voice” according to Aunt Mary.  (By the way, the video was so cute and amazing!)  Not to be outdone by her cousin (born 4 days earlier), Avalon rolled over from back to front AND, started screeching at the top of her lungs.  Today.  Too funny!  She isn’t quite as fast as Emily, but I imagine it will be soon!

Love y’all!

A Family of Threes!

This is pretty amazing!

We were sitting at breakfast this morning and I was off in “la la land,” not really paying attention to the conversation, and then I “woke up” and the boys and John were talking about how all our ages are multiples of three!

1×3=3 Reed

2×3=6 Ivan

3×3=9 Calvin

3×11=33 Lisa

3×12=36 John

And, to top it all off, Avalon is 3 Months old!!

How cool is THAT??

Well, our oldest is NINE and we celebrated with STYLE!! Calvin wanted a hunting/fishing theme, so John and I put our heads together and it really turned out to be a fabulous party.

First, John took the boys down the street to an open area and they practiced their archery. Calvin has a nice bow with several good arrows, so the boys took turns “shooting the bull”. On Calvin’s first try he stuck 3 arrows right on target. Many of the boys “shot the breeze” and Os actually shot the bull in the heart! Way to go, Os!!

After the archery, there was a boomerang toss and then we came home and opened presents and ate a yummy ice-cream cake. Then it was time for fishing. John took the boys up on the deck upstairs and then they cast their line over the edge and retrieved their take home bag of goodies (see earlier post). Then, we hit open the pinata and had a candy free-for-all.

Last of all was a “Wacky Wobble Ball” that John picked up somewhere. It has a pocket of water in it that makes it hard to throw and catch. It was a hit! Isn’t this a fine group of friends Calvin has??!!

There were so many pictures, I decided to make another album in our photo gallery. Click HERE to view all the fun!

Too Many Blogs!

Well, I’ve just added a bunch of pages.  I guess I had a lot to say.  For those who have several friends who blog and have a hard time keeping up with everyone’s blogs, there is a cool thing called “Google Reader” that helps you stay up to date.  Those of you who have G-mail can use it to add subscriptions of your blogging friends.  You just open your G-mail account and at the top of the screen there is this little link that says “Reader”.  When that opens, you go down and on the left side you will see “Add Subscription”.  Click on that and then add as many blogs as you want to keep updated on.

If you don’t have G-mail, there is another site called Bloglines that does the same thing.  I don’t know exactly how it works, but it uses RSS feeds and you can keep up on my blog and others.

As my sis-in-law, Jen, says, “It saves SO much time! Unless you add too many blogs that is :)

Have a wonderful day!

Party Prep

june2008-159.jpg

Tomorrow is Cal’s Birthday and we are busy getting ready. We blew up some balloons and filled the party favor bags. The boys will be “fishing” for the bags. Inside are goldfish crackers, Swedish fish and Sourpatch kids (which sounds a little perverse to me, but I’m not the one who bought them!)

I’ll let you know how the party goes later!

4-H Day Camp

Grandma Pratt took the boys to a 4-H Day Camp today. She had the presence of mind to ask to borrow my camera. They had a great time, but I really can’t tell you a whole lot about these pics.

June Fun!

Aunt Mary and Uncle Michael came for a visit from California.  The brought with them Natalie and Emily, of course.  We got to meet and love little Emily and have had a wonderful visit this past week.  G and G also moved into their new house and we had fun with their new fire ring.  Please click HERE to see some pictures.
