Welcome to our family blog! The hard work of others has finally paid off, and we now have a blog, largely to share the pictures of our littlest one, Avalon! She was born March 10th at 10:58 PM in Grandpa and Grandma Pratt's home (where Lisa and John are staying now). Thanks for visiting!

Happy Birthday, Reed!

Our little Reed turned 4 on Sunday.  We had a fun birthday party with the Pratts.  Grandma and Grandpa came as well as Joe, Elizabeth and Brayden.  We ate tostadas and had cake and ice cream.

When I asked Reed what type of cake he wanted he said, “Chocolate Banana”.  ????

My next question was what type of ice cream.  Without hesitation he replied, “Moose Tracks!”  Since when has he ever had moose tracks ice-cream??  Hmmmmm???????  Well, I guess Grandma Pratt educated him on that delicacy.  So, now it is his favorite!!

Now, how to bake a cake with no working oven?  I took it to a neighbor.  I made a banana cake and added cocoa powder.  Then, I realized on Sunday that I have never unpacked the powdered sugar and so had nothing to make frosting with.  I have looked for that sugar and cannot find it ANYWHERE!!  So, I just melted a few chocolate chips for the “frosting” and Aunti Elizabeth carved the name “REED” out of a banana.  It turned out very cute and Reed loved it.  Well, actually he said he didn’t like how the cake tasted, but he LOVED the moose tracks ice cream.  (The next day he liked the cake.  We ate it with Woolsey Dairy raw milk.  Yummy!)

So, my little baby’s growing up!!  Still can’t understand much of what he says, but he has a sweet spirit when he’s not sticking his tongue out at me.  (His new attitude!) Reed asked for a fishing rod for his birthday and he got one!  So, now he can go fishing with Papa and the big boys.  Maybe he’ll even catch a fish!!

Make a wish, Reedy.  We love you!

I peeped outside my front door yesterday and enjoyed a moment of watching my boys actually get along!!  It was so sweet.  Ivan was sitting on John’s car, blowing bubbles for Reed who was sword fighting them. They were both having a blast.  I sure do love my boys!

OUR New Home!

Yes, it is OURS!!!  After 10 years of marriage we are finally ready to settle down.  We love our new little home here in south Utah county.  I’ll have to take some more pictures once the inside gets a little more presentable.  This is our little miracle home.  It took many mighty miracles to make it ours and we are thrilled to death.  We have officially .25 acres with another unofficial (soon to be ours) .25 acre.  So, a half an acre with animal rights!  Woo hoo!!  We hope to make it our little Pratt farm.  The boys love it and we do too.

What a blessing this is in our lives right now.

Chicks!!

Meet Sunshine and Scamper!  The boys spent the night with Grandma Pratt and came home with some baby chickens!  They went with her to  Thanksgiving Point “Farm Country” and she purchased some chicks!  So, we have the first additions to our Pratt Farm!  I’m not sure how old these chicks are or what to feed them or how to keep them.  But, I guess this will be baptism by fire!  I have some research and work to do.  Chicken coop building, Here I come!!  Ha!  Until then, we listen to cute little peeps all day long coming from a box in our kitchen.  It is really adorable.

Aunt Tauna Comes to Utah!

I have like a TON of pictures I need to post.  I’ve been taking a lot and haven’t had a moment to post.  So, I will slowly get them on our website, here soon.  I will start with the most recent and work my way back.  (But, I will be putting them in chronological order according to the dates.  So, it might mess a few of you up.  Sorry!)

Aunt Tauna (my best friend) and her daughter, Sariah, came for a visit this past week.  They came all the way from GEORGIA just to see me!  Except, probably more to see Avalon.  We had a great week.  Tauna helped me get more unpacked and settled in my new little home.  We took a lot of photos, so CLICK HERE to see a few (O.K., many!) of them.

(Sariah LOVED the goat farm where we got our milk.  We had to go back a second time.  She would have gone there every day if time would have permitted.)

Onion Days!

Well, we didn’t get to move on Saturday, but that didn’t stop us from participating in our new city’s annual celebration.  Onion Days.  I kid you not!  On Saturday we went to the children’s parade and had a wonderful time.  There was an onion eating contest, onion on a string, bobbing for onions, Just kidding.  None of that.  The closest thing I saw to onions were that there were a few booths selling “Bloomin’ Onions”.  You know, those battered and deep fried onions with that yummy sauce.  I didn’t think I could eat it all by myself, so I passed.  We did have some Popsicles and a funnel cake.  There were children’s games (all for free) and here is a picture of Reed decorating a visor at one of the booths.  Then, we went to the carnival area where the boys got to take a ride.  Cal and Ivan enjoyed the carousel and Reed had a blast “driving” a jeep.  It was a wonderful morning for us and we can’t wait to move here!
